Picked during the fist week of April, 2016 from the Tea Gardens at Long Jin Village near Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.
Very hard to find outside of China, this delicious brew is sweet yet nutty with an amazingly smooth finish. Easily recognized by the hand-flattened, yellow-green leaves and distinct fragrance, this spectacular tea is mellow yet flavorful with an almost sweet finish.
One of China’s most well-known, celebrated teas, Dragonwell is grown in the mountains of Zhejiang Province. When in Long Jing you can see this tea being pan fired almost everywhere you go. This exceptional Pre Qing Ming Dragonwell is a real treat for serious tea drinkers.
Emperor Qianlong (1735-1796 A.D.) of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911 A.D.) proclaimed Dragonwell to be “The Imperial Tea.” Dragonwell is from the beautiful West Lake District – near Hangzhou in the Zhejiang Province, long revered for its beautiful, serene scenery and exquisite Tea.
Dragonwell is classified into 13 grades, and only the first three grades are top-quality Tea.
The leaves are flat and straight, with a yellowish, emerald-green color.
Use 2 teaspoons per 16 to 24 oz pot.
Use Very Hot (185º – 190ºF.) water.
Steep for 2 to 3 minutes
Caffeine: about 15mg per 8oz cup.
