Also called “Nan Jing Yu Hua Tea.”
Yu Hua tea originates from Nan Jing City in Jiang Su province in Eastern China, just north of Shanghai.
The name Yu Hua means “Rain Flower,” and it is so called because the tea leaves are harvested from within the Rain Flower Terrace area. The name Yu Hua came from a Buddhist legend where a Zen master lectured around the area of Nan Jing, declaring that if his teachings were true, flowers would rain from the heavens. When this Zen master taught his dharma, flowers rained!
As one of the Ten Famous Teas in China, Yu Hua Tea appears green and round and is covered with white hair, and is as tight and straight as the pine needle.
A grand Yu Hua Tea Festival is held yearly during April. This festival is aimed to publicizing this special Nan Jing Rain Flower Green Tea.
Yu Hua tea is One of the finest, most prestigious, and certainly most unique green teas in the world.
